Chapter 3: The Morning Lessons
The faint light of early dawn filtered through the small high windows of the bridal chamber. The cold semi winter morning made the air inside the haveli feel even sharper than the night before. Meera stirred slowly on the large charpoy bed. Her small body ached everywhere. Her muscles felt sore and used. The marks from the previous night still burned on her skin. She opened her large innocent eyes and found Raghuvendra already awake. He sat on the edge of the bed looking stern and fresh as if the long night had not affected him at all. His cold piercing gaze turned to her immediately.
