The third day in the grand Mahavira Palace brought a strange restlessness to Queen Bindu. Though her body still ached sweetly from the intense claiming by Maharaja Veer Singh the previous night she could not stop thinking about her father. The humbled King of Elyndra remained confined in a distant wing of the palace under heavy guard. Bindu knew the risks but the pull of daughterly love proved stronger than fear. During the afternoon when Veer Singh was occupied in the royal court with his ministers she slipped away quietly. Disguised in a simple veil and accompanied only by one loyal maid who owed her old allegiance she made her way to her fathers quarters.
The meeting was brief and emotional. Her father embraced her with tears in his eyes reminding her of their lost glory while warning her to survive in this new reality. Bindu reassured him of her strength though inside she felt torn between her old life and the overwhelming presence of her conqueror husband. She returned to the main chambers just as the sun began to set hoping her brief absence had gone unnoticed.
